About The Institution
Canadian International School (CIS) in Singapore was first established in 1990. It had only six high school students and six teachers. CIS take 32 years to develop its educational environment and education resources. And now CIS has 3,000 students from 80 countries. Moreover, the Canadian International School also has two campuses – the Lakeside campus in Singapore's west (Nursery to Grade 12) and the Tanjong Katong campus in the east (Nursery to Grade 6).

In 2019, the Canadian International School IB test's average score was 34.07 (world average 29.65); 98.26% of students passed the exam; students obtained the offer from 120 U.S. universities, 106 U.K. universities, 39 Canadian universities, 20 Australian universities, 38 European universities, and 29 Asian universities.

Academic Term
Each academic year starts from mid-August to mid-June. And there are 2 semesters per academic year, each semester being approximately 90 school days or approximately five months/per semester.

Admission Requirements
The school enrols students on a Rolling Basis throughout the year and enrols them at any time as space becomes available.
Primary Level

Students must take an English test, and the school will arrange a corresponding program.

Grade 5 students must take the Cambridge Mover or Flyer English test to determine acceptance to the school.

Grade 6 students must take the Aptis English test to determine acceptance to the school.

Aptis
The Aptis is a general English language test designed by the British Council to assess students' English proficiency in the following areas: Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.
Secondary Level
Students in grades 7 through 10 must take the APTIS English test to determine acceptance to the school.
High School

To whose first language is not English or who come from a non-English language school will be required to take an English proficiency assessment (Aptis) to determine if the candidate can access English-based programs and if they need additional support.

Grade 11 students must take an in-school test, interview and Aptis.
